Since 1966 Vans has celebrated those that do things their own way. From the core of California’s surf culture through the rise of skateboarding and into music and art, Vans has been the brand for those that live “Off The Wall”. Celebrating this rich heritage in creating for the creators of the world, this footwear and apparel assortment is inspired by heritage prints, graphics and logo treatments from the women’s product line from the ‘80s and ‘90s called Lady Vans. The Lady Vans Collection was developed collectively by a group of Vans designers across apparel and footwear who each made a page of a zine. Portions of the zine serve as graphic design elements found across the collection. In the spirit of DIY and creative expression, key pieces from the Lady Vans assortment are encouraged to be customized and made your own.
The Lady Vans apparel assortment kicks off with the long sleeve raglan top which features an oversized zine graphic on the chest and a “cut here” graphic can be found on the inside of the shirt, showing how to customize, crop or turn the tee into a short sleeve. Next in the collection is a pullover designed to resemble a shirt-over-hoodie style of the ‘90s. The Lady Vans Zine is boldly screen printed on the midi dress which can be cut, tied and customized using the interior “cut here” graphics. Rounding out the apparel highlights is the Lady Vans Coverall with patches down the sleeve and embroidered logo at the chest. Long and short sleeve t-shirts, jacket and accessories including a hat, waist pack and backpacks are also available showcasing the collaborative Lady Vans zine print.
For footwear, the Lady Vans Era and Sk8-Hi both feature the all-over zine print and Vans “Off The Wall” retro graphics. The Era will be offered in three graphic colorways including azalea pink, sharp green. Two iterations of the Sk8-Hi round out the footwear assortment including black and azalea pink which features a contrasting sharp green medial side and is outfitted with a yellow Sidestripe.
